MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION:
Mission Statement
PTGAF has a fourfold mission. Establish
professional standards for tour guides through on going educational
opportunities. Create a communication forum among local tour guides, tour
operators and tourism related cultural organizations. Enhance the cultural
awareness and quality experience of the Florida tourism industry in conjunction
with local educational institutions. Raise public, private and governmental
awareness of the valuable role of the professional tour guides in the State of
Florida.
Benefits of Membership:
- A tour guide directory to be published on the web
listing members of PTGAF that acts as a reference guide for the Southern
Florida Concierge Association (SFCA), Greater Miami Convention and Visitors
Bureau (GMCVB), Florida Association of Meetings and Events Professionals Inc.(
F.A.M.E.) and related organizations in the tourism industry.
- Provide opportunities to attend networking events
that provide a platform for information exchange about tourism related events
of beneficial interest to tour guides.
- Provide educational opportunities for career
enhancement as a tour guide and information about tour guide training and
certification programs.
- Member access to job opportunities that are posted
with PTGAF.
Membership Categories:
- Corporate Members. $ 100
Tour operators, historical venues and Attractions.
- Affiliate Members. $ 50
Government agencies, associations, organizations not directly related to tour
guiding but supporting the tour guide industry. These could include schools,
travel publishers, writers and similar such professions.
- Certified Tour Guide. $ 40
- Associate Tour Guide. $ 30
Guides not currently certified who have one year to obtain certification
